Intervention law on greenhouse construction

Regarding the emergency legislation on the construction of greenhouses (Article 110 of the ZZUOOP – Act on Temporary Measures to Mitigate and Remedy the Consequences of COVID-19), which temporarily (until the end of 2021) allowed certain exemptions from standard construction requirements for greenhouses, we have received an official clarification from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food (MAFF).

The Ministry has confirmed that the provision will not be extended, as it is not included in the tenth anti-COVID legislative package. However, they will permit the completion of greenhouse construction or renovation under these temporary exemptions during 2022, provided that the construction or renovation works commenced in the 2021 calendar year.
