New Expert Committee Officially Begins Work
Members of the Expert Committee on Ornamental Plants Hold First Meeting
The members of the Expert Committee on Ornamental Plants convened for their first meeting on April 22. During the session, the committee elected Damjana Čuden Osredkar for presidency and Bernarda Strgar Schulz as Vice-president.
The members then reviewed the committee’s work program for the 2021–2024 period. The program was discussed and will be finalized at the next meeting.
During the discussion, members highlighted the significant challenges faced by ornamental plant producers. They emphasized the importance of recognizing this sector as part of agriculture and addressing its specific issues within the KGZS system. Particular attention will be given to drafting a detailed program that clearly identifies the areas and problems requiring action. Members also stressed the need to keep ornamental plant producers well-informed about the committee’s activities and proposed that most future meetings be held online to facilitate participation.
At the next session, the committee will approve the work program and establish a timeline for its implementation.
